What is Leopard Print?
Leopard print reproduces the rosette pattern of a leopard's coat, usually in tan and black, and often dyed into other colorways. On a tube cut the print sits uninterrupted across the body with no straps breaking it up, so the pattern carries the whole garment. It's a print that does a lot on its own, which suits people who want one loud piece rather than a loud outfit.
Leopard, Cheetah or Jaguar?
These three get sold as the same thing and they're visually distinct. Leopard print is made of rosettes: broken rings of dark pigment with a tan center inside them. Cheetah print is solid round dots with no center fill, smaller and more evenly spaced. Jaguar print uses larger rosettes with additional small dots inside the ring.

Does Leopard Print Show Up Under Blacklight?
Classic tan and black leopard generally doesn't. Brown and black pigments absorb UV rather than reflecting it, so a traditional leopard top tends to go flat under a blacklight rig and read close to black from a distance.
Neon and brightly dyed colorways usually behave differently, since fluorescent dyes re-emit UV as visible light and the rosettes gain definition rather than losing it. How strongly depends on the specific dye and how heavily the fabric is printed, so it varies between pieces. Print Scale on a Crop Top
Print scale matters more on a small garment than a large one, and it's the thing most people don't check before ordering. A crop or tube top has limited surface area, so a large-scale leopard print might only fit three or four complete rosettes across the front. You end up wearing fragments of a pattern rather than the pattern itself.
Smaller-scale prints read as leopard immediately, even on a cropped cut. Larger-scale prints read as abstract shapes up close and resolve into leopard from further back. Neither is wrong, but they photograph differently, so check the product photos for scale.

Fit on a Strapless Cut
Sleeve length isn't a decision here, so the band is what matters. A strapless top stays up through grip rather than support, meaning the fit around the ribcage does all the work.

If you're between sizes on a tube cut, sizing down is usually the safer call. A loose band is a problem all night, while a snug one settles after twenty minutes. On underlayers, a strapless or adhesive bra keeps the line clean, since straps break up the print.
Washing a Printed Spandex Top
Cold wash and turn it inside out. Printed spandex is vulnerable in two ways: heat degrades the elastane that keeps the band gripping, and friction against other garments abrades the print surface. Skip the dryer entirely and lay flat to dry. Avoid fabric softener on stretch fabrics, since it coats the fibers and reduces recovery over time, which on a strapless cut means it stops staying up.
Styling a Leopard Top
The print is doing the work, so the rest of the outfit can be plain. Leather pants and chunky platform boots for a festival, high-waisted denim shorts and fishnets for something casual, a mini skirt for a night out.
On mixing prints, keep one pattern dominant and one supporting, with a shared color between them. Leopard and a second busy print at the same scale will compete. Leopard with a solid, or leopard with a much smaller-scale print in the same palette, both work.
